Because the original 12" was a limited edition it was an obvious choice to counterfeit.  But as far as I know no effort has been made to replicate the original vinyl (swirled maroon with blue streaks), so colors such as marbled navy blue, marbled green, orange, marbled pink, and red have been made under the guise of being re-issues.

Poor quality artwork and missing features (i.e. the shower head) on the sleeve are things to watch for if you can't check the vinyl color.  These flaws are very noticeable when you can personally inspect the sleeves side-by-side, Geffen vs. counterfeit.  (Real or Fake.)

There are two other Hormoaning fakes to look for: a bootleg picture disc that has been sighted in Australia, and a rumored black vinyl bootleg that has artwork modeled after the Japanese CD.
