  • "(Digital Compact Cassette) was a competitor with MiniDisc and they both lost out.  It was like a consumer verison of DAT."

by Joris

  • "DCC was invented by Philips to replace their old tape system.  You could read your old tapes as well as your DCC ones in the players.  It never took off (like many of their inventions) mainly due to 3 things:

    • · It is still a tape and can thus break.
      · MiniDisc came out just before and was a lot smaller.
      · Small catalogue of titles."
