2014/04/06 1990/04/20 Swarthmore analog audience audio recording audience audio AMT #1 ANA(M) > CDR(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 71 min. 7.5 LNDU
LNTH
New and quite long show from the last tour with Chad, featuring nearly all songs that were regularly played during that era. Average sound quality, but an energetic performance.
2012/08/09 1989/02/25 Seattle analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 39 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
This is truly a great new surfacing: A complete and very good sounding recording of an early '89 concert! We get to hear a well played and energetic 40 minute-set including the semi-rare songs "Mr. Moustache", "Paper Cuts" and "Sifting" aswell as the first known live performance of "Negative Creep". Kurt's vocal performance is especially outstanding.
2011/12/25 1990/01/19 Olympia analog audience video recording (audience audio from) amateur video AMT #1 VHS(M) > DVDR(0) /
VHS(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz]
16 min. 7.5 LNDU (V)
LNDU (A)
LNTH
Here we have a video of Nirvana's never before seen or heard concert at Rignall Hall in Olympia. The video is incomplete (featuring eight songs) and has cuts in every song. The audio quality is solid, while the video is fairly dark. It was filmed very close to the band though, so there are at least some nice closeups. Unfortunately there are many special effects.
2011/03/21 1991/10/17 Lawrence analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 45 min. 7.5 LNDU
LNTH
Average sounding recording of a previously never available concert. The taper intended to also record the rest of concert on the other side of the cassette, but for some reason his recorder didn't work properly. Features the rarely performed song "Curmudgeon".
2010/04/04 1990/08/23 Portland analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 42 min. 7.0 LNDU
LNTH
Previously unsurfaced concert from the tour with Dale Crover on drums. The setlist is very similar to the one from the next night, except for an opening jam which cuts in on this recording. The quality isn't that great, but anyone should be able to get over it, after all this is a completely new show!

CIRCULATING NEW SOURCES

Date of Surfacing: Date/City: What: Type: Source: Generation: Length: Sound Quality: Links: Comment:
2015/02/22 1993/04/09 Daly City digital audience audio recording audience audio AUD #5 DAT(M) [48kHz] > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 91 min. 7.5 LNDU
LNTH
The fifth(!) audience recording of this concert, secured straight from the DAT master. This one's quite bass heavy.
2014/12/21 1989/11/27 Rome analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(1) > CDR(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 40 min. 6.5 LNDU
LNTH
While not sounding quite as good as AUD #1, this new source is still very interesting as it contains part of the soundcheck, including most of "Sappy". This source is not to be confused with the old mislabelled AUD #2, which turned out to actually be an inferior dub of AUD #1!
2014/11/26 1991/11/11 Hamburg analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #3 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 69 min. 7.0 LNDU
LNTH
New near complete audience recording, worse quality than the other two audience sources, but still very listenable. The master was destroyed, so ANA(1) is the lowest generation in existence.
2014/08/14 1993/11/09 Bethlehem digital audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 Unofficial CD [Legacy of Noise] > FLAC [44.1kHz] 77 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
It was recently discovered that this bootleg features an audience recording different to all the already existing sources. Therefore, a speed-corrected and standardized version was distributed. Missing the last two songs, likely because there was no more room on the CD.
2014/01/19 1993/01/xx Rio de Janeiro digital soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #6 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 5 min. 9.5 LNDU
LNSH
This was also included on the tape SBD #5 came from (probably as a filler): "Gallons..." from the running monitor mix, thus without any guitar overdubs. It is missing the first two and a half minutes.
2014/01/19 1993/01/xx Rio de Janeiro digital soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #5 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 30 min. 9.5 LNDU
LNSH
Here we have some excellent sounding tracks from the infamous Rio session, including "Very Ape" with vocals. Much better sound quality than the Craig Montgomery rough mix ANA(x). This is apparently a different mix compared to the ones we already have.
2014/01/18 1993/01/16 São Paulo digital soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #1 DAT(M) [??kHz] > ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 53 min. 9.5 LNDU
LNTH
For many people the "holy grail" of Nirvana concerts - now here it is, more than the half of this train wreck in excellent quality. You get to hear a few sloppy performances of Nirvana songs (for example "Something In The Way" with altered lyrics) followed by some ridiculously bad performed cover songs / cover jams including (amongst others) "Seasons In The Sun", "Kids In America", "Should I Stay or Should I Go", "867-5309/Jenny" and "Rio". The band members changed instruments for these cover songs. Entertaining and funny to listen to this mess, but I feel a little sorry for the folks who paid to attend this concert.
2013/05/23 1991/08/23 Reading analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #5 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 38 min. 6.5 LNDU
LNTH
Near complete audience recording (only Drain You is slightly cut) which sounds pretty harsh due to hot levels.
2013/04/24 1989/11/11 Berlin analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 42 min. 8.0 LNDU
LNTH
Sourced from a commercial bootleg tape, this new recording is nicer to listen to than AUD #1a and #1b because it has no sound problems and doesn't sound generated. There are lots of between-song cuts, but all actual songs are complete.
2013/04/09 1989/11/16 Nuremberg analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2b ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 51 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
In contrast to the master transfer, this very good first generation copy isn't plagued by problems in the right channel. Apparently the master tape deteriorated over the years before it was transferred, making this source split necessary. Quality-wise, this new version sounds nearly as good as the master transfer despite being one gen higher.
2013/04/05 1991/11/14 Vienna analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 64 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
New complete audience recording with considerably higher sound quality than both video sources, making this concert much more enjoyable.
2013/03/24 1989/11/22 Vienna analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 61 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
Near complete and very good sounding audience recording of this concert, featuring some more onstage-banter.
2012/12/08 1993/12/18 Denver analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #3 ANA(M) > CDR(1) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 85 min. 8.0 LNDU
LNTH
Here we have a new audience source for the Denver show. It is complete and sounds slightly better than AUD #2 and quite a bit better than AUD #1.
2012/04/20 1994/01/07 Seattle analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 94 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
Very good sounding and near complete new audience recording for this concert, yet not as good as AUD #1 in terms of quality.
2012/04/12 1990/02/12 Sacramento analog audience video recording (audience audio from) amateur video AMT #2 VHS(M) > DVDR(1) /
VHS(M) > DVDR(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz]
61 min. 8.0 LNDU (V)
LNDU (A)
LNTH
New video for this concert. The show was filmed with a static camera from above, resulting in a nice overview. Besides a cut in "Love Buzz", the video is complete and also contains some footage from before and after the concert. Both audio and video quality are fairly nice.
2012/03/28 1988/06/30 Seattle analog soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #1a ANA(2) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 4 min. 9.5 LNDU
LNSH
This is a very interesting little piece of history, namely the first mix of Love Buzz without re-recorded vocals (and therefore a never before heard vocal track) and a longer "Montage Of Heck" intro. Excellent quality for a second gen tape and also features some introductory noise that isn't available anywhere else.
2012/02/28 1993/11/13 Washington analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2b ANA(2) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 102 min. 6.5 LNDU
LNTH
Only slightly better sounding than the ANA(4) (AUD #2a). Has cuts that are not on AUD #2a and vice versa, therefore this source got split.
2011/12/22 1991/11/14 Vienna analog audience video recording (audience audio from) amateur video AMT #2 VHS(1) > DVDR(1) /
VHS(1) > DVDR(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz]
18 min. 8.0 LNDU (V)
LNDU (A)
LNTH
Probably the most interesting surface so far this year - a partial video of this concert including the first five songs and part of the soundcheck, at which the band plays "Talk To Me" (cuts in) and part of "Oh, The Guilt". The soundcheck is filmed from the back of the venue, while the concert is filmed from the side of the stage. Audio and video quality are also fairly good.
2011/12/14 1992/01/24 Sydney digital audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 DAT(M) > ANA(2) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 3 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
New and good sounding recording of this concert (at least a little part of it). Due to technical problems, all that was recorded is the intro and parts of "Aneurysm" and "Drain You".
2011/12/12 1991/11/19 Rome analog soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #1c DBS > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 59 min. 9.0 LNDU
LNTH
Recorded from a digital radio broadcast, this version sounds a lot better than the analog radio recordings of this concert. However, this broadcast has cut within "Smells Like Teen Spirit" because the original tape used for broadcast was damaged.
2011/11/16 1991/09/23 Boston analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 49 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
While there were previously only some clips of this concert available, we now have a near complete and good sounding audience recording of this Nevermind era concert. The setlist doesn't offer any rarities, but this concert includes the first ever performance of "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam", which the band just learned that day.
2011/10/27 1991/10/24 San Diego analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 20 min. 6.0 LNDU
LNTH
Newly surfaced complete audience recording, featuring the intro and all of "Dumb", while the video source doesn't. Unfortunately, the quality is rather bad due to cheap equipment and a very low recording level.
2011/10/07 1991/10/01 Philadelphia analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 43 min. 8.5 LNDU
LNTH
Another recording of this show. It's complete and sounds significantly better than AUD #1.
2011/06/25 1993/10/xx Atlanta (Hole w/ Cobain) analog soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #2b ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 47 min. 9.0 LNDU
LNSH
All finished songs from the "Live Though This" session mixed by Sean Slade from Kristen Pfaff's personal collection (thus proably a low gen). Featuring never before available mixes, unique between-song banter and the highest quality version of the song "Rock Star".
2011/03/31 1991/12/31 San Francisco analog audience video recording amateur video AMT #1 VHS(2) > DVDR(1) 5 min. 7.0 LNDU
LNTH
For the first time video footage from this concert! This video was shot from the side of the stage and features a near complete "Territorial Pissings" and the end-of-show destruction.
2011/01/12 1993/12/30 Inglewood analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #3 ANA(2) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 93 min. 8.0 LNDU
LNTH
New and fairly nice sounding recording of this concert, although it's a little distorted.
2010/12/30 1993/10/23 Chicago analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 94 min. 6.0 LNDU
LNTH
Old source, which dropped out of circulation when AUD #1 surfaced, Sounds way worse than AUD #1, but "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" is complete here.
2010/11/12 1991/06/10 Englewood analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1kHz] 36 min. 7.5 LNDU
LNTH
Alternate worse sounding but still listenable recording for this show.
2010/01/25 1989/11/08 Cologne analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 64 min. 8.0 LNDU
LNTH
New and complete audience recording, less overdriven but more generated than AUD #1. Although the exact lineage of this tape is unknown, it's thought to be of fairly low generation (1st or 2nd gen).
2009/05/02 1994/02/25 Milan analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #2 ANA(M) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 44 min. 7.0 LNDU
LNTH
New audience recording including only the first half of the show (until "School"). Quality is clearly worse than AUD #1.
2009/03/11 1993/01/23 Rio de Janeiro analog soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #1b FM > ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 27 min. 9.0 LNDU
LNTH
Like the source below, this is also a recording of a radio broadcast of the Rio show, including seven songs (a few songs are both on SBD #1a and on here) with two songs being very slightly cut. Has fake crowd noise added.
2009/03/11 1993/01/23 Rio de Janeiro analog soundboard audio recording soundboard audio SBD #1a FM > ANA(1) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 20 min. 9.0 LNDU
LNTH
Very good sounding recording of a radio broadcast including five songs from that date, with four songs slightly cut. Different mix than the SBD audio from the PRO videos.
2009/03/03 1991/10/11 Detroit analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #1 ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 80 min. 7.5 LNDU
LNTH
This new audience recording is nearly complete (just has a cut in "Smells Like Teen Spirit") and is very similar in terms of quality compared to the audio of AMT #1. [UPDATE: A different ANA(x) featuring higher sound quality has been circulated on 2012/08/14.]
2009/03/03 1991/08/25 Hasselt analog audience audio recording audience audio AUD #4 ANA(x) > FLAC [44.1 & 48kHz] 32 min. 8.0 LNDU
LNTH
A new near complete audience audio recording, only missing about the half of "Endless, Nameless." Quality wise worse than AUD #1 and AUD #3 and of similar quality to AUD #2.

This alternate VHS(1) (again, the old tape was determined to be VHS(1) instead of VHS(x)) is a tiny bit more complete in the beginning. Unfortunately it has fairly oversaturated colours. Audio quality is nicer and has no AC3-compression.

Slightly more complete than the old version (which was labelled VHS(x), but is in fact also a VHS(1)). This new video has very saturated colors, so it's not sure if it really makes the old version redundant. The audio is clearly superior to the previous version, as it sounds better and is not compressed.
