LIVE NIRVANA SESSIONS HISTORY March 25, 1994 - Basement, Cobain residence, Seattle, WA, US View in Google Maps

  • Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar)
  • Pat Smear (guitar)
  • [?] TBC

A recording is known to exist, but is not circulating.

This demo is believed to have been recorded following a staged drug intervention at the Cobain residence. Biographer, Charles Cross, describes Cobain as retiring to the basement with Smear, saying that all he wanted to do was play guitar for a while. (1) Cobain is said to have used a newly customized Fender Telecaster to record these home demos, After Kurt's coma in Rome, I thought modifying this guitar would make it a workhorse and get him away from the Mustang-Jaguar image. Hopefully get him perked up, explained NIRVANA guitar tech, Earnest Bailey. He got [it] 2-weeks before he died, and said it was his new favorite. He used it for the home recordings he was making with Pat. (2)
