Programme Title: Past Present and Future
Broadcast Date/s: 02/07/94
Length: 23 Minutes
Notes: This special is an interesting look back at the band's activity and events of the previous years. Almost all this footage bar a small section was used for MTV's tribute program shown later in the year, making this pretty much redundant from a collector's point of view. The promos are all only short clips used to illustrate the interviews.

There are several interviews featured in this special all except interview (3) are featured in short clips, some re-occurring more than once. Interview (3) is actually 3 separate interviews with each member of the band who discuss the band's career up to this point; this acts as a narrative for the special. This was recorded 12/13/93 in Seattle, WA. Of the other interviews;

Interview (1) is Dave and Krist from 09/23/91, Axis Nightclub, Boston, MA.
Interview (2) is the whole band from 08/23/91, Reading Festival, Reading, UK.
Interview (4) is done in September 1992 and is the band sitting by a swimming pool with Kurt holding Frances.

Programme Title: A Current Affair
Broadcast Date/s: 04/12/94
Length: 5 Minutes
Notes: This is a program about an apparent copycat suicide that occurred shortly after Kurt's death. Essentially this program implies that Kurt's death may lead other young people to take their own lives. Although it may now seem like a massive overreaction now there was serious concern at the time that Kurt's death may lead to many copycat suicides. Love Buzz is taken from what appears to be a fairly high generation video of the bands 10/19/91, Trees Club, Dallas, TX concert and is of little interest.

Programme Title: Kurt Cobain Remembered
Broadcast Date/s: 04/94, 05/02/94
Length: 112 Minutes
Notes: The presenter mentions that this has been shown before a week before Kurt's death and states that the original broadcast is different to this one (hence the date above). The special itself has a strong focus on the issues surrounding Kurt's suicide, with interviews from counsellors, etc, aimed at young people finding it difficult to cope with Kurt's death, this takes up much of the special. There are also interviews with fans on Kurt's death and suicide and depression in general. The initial interviews with Gillian Gaar, Greg Kot et al are very brief comments by journalists and members of other groups on the band with a few dating back to the Nevermind era, some rather more insightful than others. There are 3 different interviews with the band, interviews (1) is recorded in Toronto on 09/20/91, interview (2) was recorded in Foufounes Électriques, Montreal on 09/21/91. These feature Nirvana at their most difficult and sarcastic, though often very funny in places. Interview (3) was recorded in August 1993 in Seattle to the background of the harbour and features an interview with Kurt that is as interesting and insightful as I have seen. There is also some live footage with Something In The Way and Endless Nameless clips from 09/20/91, The Opera House, Toronto, Canada and 3 live songs from 11/25/91, Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland: Breed, Love Buzz and Territorial Pissings.

Programme Title: Video Music Special
Broadcast Date/s: 04/94
Length: 43 Minutes
Notes: The footage featured is interspersed with biographical sections featuring stills of a written biography with Incesticede playing in the background. There are 2 interviews in this tribute: interview (1) is taken from 11/02/91, Headbangers Ball; interview (2) is the band standing around in what appears to be a backstage area, the interviewer speaks in broken English and the band often finishes his sentences by reading them off the clip board. The live songs are shown rather oddly with the first half of Smells Like Teen Spirit leading into the second half of Lithium and the first half of Pennyroyal Tea leading into the second half of Rape Me (strange!). These are taken from 02/22/94, Palagaccio, Rome, Italy. All promos are shown in full.

Programme Title: MTV Nirvana Tribute
Broadcast Date/s: 06/03/94, 04/95
Length: 90 Minutes
Notes: This being an MTV profile is rather difficult to list as some clips appear more than once and interviews crop up again throughout the video (which would make the content list a mess) for this reason I have only listed the first showing of the featured item. Basically this special is an enlarged version of Past Present and Future with extra footage thrown in. The band interviews and live footage in this video are outlined in detail below.

Of the other footage Kurt's bottle smashing and Dave grabbing oranges from the backstage buffet are taken from 1991: The Year That Punk Broke video. Dave and Krist out and about in London is taken from Krist's home video of the 1990 European tour (for further details of this please check out Live Nirvana's Inside The Horror Movie). There is also brief home video clips of Kurt feeding Frances shown in the credits. All promos are shown in full except Big Cheese, which is just a short clip.

There are several interviews featured in this special all except interview 3 feature in short clips. Interview (3) is Nirvana's Past Present and Future profile, recorded 12/13/93 in Seattle, WA and acts as a narrative for the special. Of the other interviews:

Interview (1) is Dave and Krist from 09/23/91, Axis Nightclub, Boston, MA.
Interview (2) is the whole band from 08/23/91, Reading Festival, Reading, UK.
Interview (4) is done in September 1992 and is the band sitting by a swimming pool with Kurt holding Frances.
Interview (5) is Kurt from January 1993 in Rio de Janeiro.
Interview (6) is from September 1993 with the band sitting on stools.
Interview (7) is the band sitting on a sofa recorded 10/18/93, Veterans Memorial Stadium, Phoenix, AZ.

There are also numerous amounts of live footage all shown in shortened form unless indicated. The dates and songs played are outlined below.

Programme Title: Video Music Awards
Broadcast Date/s: 09/09/94
Length: 7 Minutes
Notes: Nirvana once again win the award for Best Alternative Video. The remainder of the band collect the award and Dave says a few brief, but moving, words saying that he misses Kurt. Later in the show there is a tribute shown about the band introduced by Krist. The tribute is very nice, including some previously unseen home video footage of a young Kurt who appears to be not much more than 15. Kurt stares into a mirror, selects a cake (he is later seen throwing the rejected cakes into a lake), jumps around with his guitar and we see the one of Kurt's infamous turtles swimming in a tank. Of the other footage Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam and Oh Me are from 11/18/93, MTV Unplugged, New York, NY. The backstage clips are taken from 1991: The Year Punk Broke. On A Plain is from 01/10/92 MTV, Studios, New York, NY. The destruction is from 12/13/93, Pier 48, Seattle, WA. Endless Nameless is from 08/23/91, Reading Festival, Reading, UK.

Programme Title: Nardwaur Interview
Broadcast Date/s: Sometime in 1994
Length: 19 Minutes
Notes: A rather strange backstage interview with the band and a clip of Hole performing Pennyroyal Tea. The footage is clearly amateur and was recorded backstage after Nirvana's concert in Vancouver, BC, 01/04/94. It also features a clip of Radio Friendly Unit Shifter and Lithium from 12/13/93, Seattle, WA. The clips have no sound, but merely act as a background to the interview. At the end of the interview there is an interview with Courtney recorded in a bar in Vancouver, BC on 11/15/94.
