NIRVANA and crew undertake a series of full stage rehearsals in preparation for the In Utero tour. The best part was a projection crew running old silent films, including Dante's Inferno, behind the band while they played, recalls guitar tech, Earnest Bailey. The concept in my opinion was so perfectly matched and such a powerful visual, that I was very let down to hear they wouldn't be bringing it along due to it's expense. (1)

We stayed at the Universal Hilton, Bailey continues. At night Krist & I sported tweed jackets with knit ties, outfitted as religious fanatics/disenfranchised branch Davidians and headed down to the Sunset Strip with the Bibles from our rooms. We went through the lines of hair metal fans at rock clubs and chastised them for their tatoos and sin-filled lifestyles. It got hilarious and out of hand as most of them recognized Krist and also disliked NIRVANA for helping dismantle their subculture. (1)
