Rare Tracks Vol. II

Live Nirvana Bootography Review:
This disc is a clone of "Outcesticide II" and thusly is given the same review.

The most annoying thing is that they spelled "Tracks" wrong on the front cover
spelled "Traks"

I recommend that you just pass this disc up and get the "real deal" "Outcesticide II"

what follows is the Outcesticide II review :

The Outcesticide compilation series are the best known and most popular compilation series for Nirvana collectors. The information and images here are from an ORIGINAL Blue Moon issue. The majority of the "Blue Moon" Outcesticides are counterfeit copies, frequently stealing the artwork and Blue Moon logo. True Blue Moon issues do not contain blurry artwork - the easiest way to spot a fake.

Most of the track descriptions found on the back of the inlay are fairly accurate. You can read them below:

In Bloom (unissued Sup Pop 7" master tape) (5/90)
Immodium (Early Version of Breed with different lyrics)
Help Me (An Unreleased song from winter 1989)
Oh, The Guilt ( Live Version) (11/89)
Smells Like Teen Spirit ( with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers on trumpet) (1/93)
Pennyroyal Tea ( Early Version with different lyrics)
It's Closing Soon (Kurt and Courtney, The Rio Tape) (date unknown)
Heart-Shaped Box (Early Version with different lyrics) (1/93)
Scentless Apprentice ( Extended experimental feedback version) (1/93)
Been A Son - ( acoustic rehearsal) (10/91)
Something In The Way ( in-store acoustic gig) (10/91)
Negative Creep ( in-store acoustic gig) (10/91)
Where Did You Sleep Last Night? (Kurt solo at Castaic Lake) (9/92)
Baba O'Riley (Covering the Who in Rennes) (12/91)
The End (Slaughtering the Doors in Belgium)
Lithium (Mix 6, unreleased studio version)
Dumb (with Melora Craeger on cello) (2/94)
Molly's Lips ( an early attempt at a Vaselines' song) (11/89)
Verse Choruse Verse (Unreleased song written circa summer 1990)
The Man Who Sold The World (electric version 12/93)
Smells Like Teen Spirit (Live on The World TV Show) (11/91)

The only complaint I have is that track 16 is recorded poorly. The acoustic guitar is very quiet, and in their attempt to raise the noise level, the drums became overdriven. The best version of Lithium Mix 6 can be found on the "Into the Black" box set. The sound quality on the remaining tracks is solid. Better sounding versions of some of these recordings can be found on separate discs, but Blue Moon still did an excellent job.
