Notes
NIRVANA kicked off the European leg of the In Utero tour with an appearance on French variety show, Nulle Part Ailleurs.
The band donned geeky waistcoats, apparently as an homage to The Knack (1), and tore through renditions of Rape Me, Pennyroyal Tea and Drain You.
Plagued with technical problems throughout the performance, Cobain's guitar eventually cut out during the final number, causing him to hurl it to the ground in frustration and grab the mic stand.
Cellist, Melora Creager, was on standby at the studio, but didn't get to join the band onstage, They'd never know what songs they were going to do, so I never knew if I was going to play or not,
Creager explained. (1) Later, in Rome, the tour manager told Kurt to have me play because I'm always hanging around anyway, so I got to play on that TV show!
